The short version
We built this guide to answer menu questions — not to collect data. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no checkout and no comment forms on this site, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone. The interactive tools (menu search, tray builder, shake filters, open-now hint) run entirely in your own browser.
Information we collect
- What you type into search or the tray builder stays in your browser. Search text appears in the page URL (for example search.html?q=oreo) so results can be shared — it is not sent to us as a form submission.
- Corrections you choose to send go through our public GitHub issue tracker, under GitHub's terms and privacy practices. Only share what you are comfortable posting publicly.
- We do not ask for names, emails, passwords, payment details, precise location or health information anywhere on this site. The "near me" buttons simply open the official store locator or Google Maps.
Cookies & browser storage
As of October 2026, this site sets no cookies of its own and uses no local-storage profiles, fingerprinting or cross-site trackers. If that ever changes (for example, privacy-friendly analytics), this page will be updated before or when it happens.
Hosting & server logs
Like almost every website, our static host (currently GitHub Pages) automatically receives technical request data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, and may keep server logs for security and operations. That processing is governed by the host's own privacy policy; we do not receive names or contact details from page visits.
Outbound links
We link out to the official Cook Out website (cookout.com, including its locations finder and nutrition PDF), Google Maps searches, and our GitHub project. Once you follow an external link, that site's privacy policy applies — including any location features you enable there. External links generally open in a new tab so you can tell when you have left this guide.
Children's privacy
This is a general-audience food information site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — there is simply nowhere on the site to submit it. Parents looking for ordering help can start with the kids' menu guide.
Your choices & changes to this policy
Because we hold no account data, there is nothing to download or delete from our side; you can clear your browser data at any time, and you can ask GitHub about data in any public issue you opened. If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a fresh date. Privacy questions: use the Contact page.
